When deciding whether to let Cohost manage your short-term rental, it is important for you to understand the laws in your city. As a short-term rental property management company we do not provide legal advice, but we want to give you some useful links that may help you better understand laws and regulations in Garfield County. This list is not exhaustive, but it should give you a good start in understanding your local laws. To find out relevant information, it is always good practice to check with your county or city government website. You can find out short-term rental information here.

In December 2015, the Board of County Commissioners amended the County Land Use and Development Code to allow short-term rentals in all standard zone districts such as Rural or Residential. This allowance does not include Planned Unit Developments districts unless the individual PUD zoning permits such use. You can find the PUD Guides here.

It's always good to contact the Planning Division if you have questions about permitted use in your location. You can contact the Community Development Department at 970.945.8212.
